Greek Startup Universe Closing Ceremony
The outputs of the global online program for Greeks in tech
Greek Startup Universe Closing Ceremony is coming online on Thursday 3rd of June, marking the end of the whole Greek Startup Universe initiative, powered by Startup Greece and Founderhood. It runs under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy and the General Secretariat of International Economic Relations and Openness of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is supported by the Enterprise Greece.
In eight weeks, the online program managed to bring together Greek founders, experts, and investors from the global tech startup scene and support more than 400 early-stage Greek and Cypriot tech startup founders in scaling their business. Through Greek Startup Universe, 32 early-stage founders are now in contact with Greek angel investors claiming potential funding.
Reaching this journey’s conclusion, the organizing team has planned an online event, which will be hosted by Kyriaki Chanioti. Its main purpose is presenting the Greek Startup Universe’s outputs and the steps afterward by Dimitris Dimosiaris, Co-Founder of Founedrhood. Also, keynote speakers of the national and international political scene will take part, supporting the initiative.
More specifically, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Diaspora Greeks, Konstantinos Vlasis, the Deputy Minister of Investments and Development in charge of Research and Innovation, Christos Dimas, and the Secretary-General for International Economic Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Enterprise Greece, Yannis Smirlis will participate. Moreover, the Cabinet Expert at Cabinet of European Commissioner Mariya Gabriel for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education, and Youth, Isidro Laso Ballesteros, will also join the Closing Ceremony.
A panel discussion will follow with some of the experts of the Greek Startup Universe, who will share the experience they had during their 1-on-1 meetings with the program’s startups. The panelists are Maria-Christina Tsitsopoulos, Community Builder & Empowerment Coach, Aspasia Iosifellis, Managing Director Foreign Exchange of First Republic Bank, Athanasios-Antonios Leontaris, Managing Partner of Ratio Legal Services, and Xristos Silaidis, Global Technology CEO. The moderator will be Konstantina Koulouki, a member of the organizing team.
Last but not least, a will take place on Startup Greece’s channel on Clubhouse, giving space for discussions and exchange of ideas between anyone interested in the Greek innovation ecosystem.
