Erasmus Days 2025 — Visit to the Mayor’s Office of Tripoli
Under Digital Erasmus Days hosted by Startup Greece, the Mayor’s Office of Tripoli welcomed students and representatives for an informative visit focused on culture, the primary sector, social welfare, and youth engagement.
Mayor Konstantinos Tzioumis received the delegation and discussed municipal priorities on local governance, opportunities for young people, and sustainable development. Present were Deputy Mayor of Culture & Tourism Eleni Karountzou, Deputy Mayor of Primary Sector & Municipal Units (Valtetsiou, Skiritidas, Tegeas, Falanthou). Ioannis Hasapis, and Deputy Mayor of Social Welfare & Solidarity Kleio Koroni-Papantoniou.
The visit included a briefing on cultural events in the city and an invitation to the Independence Day commemorations. Eleni Karountzou informed participants about the existing museum infrastructure in Tripoli and outlined plans for a digital museum dedicated to the city’s history, along with the installation of computer monitors to support digital literacy. A discussion was held on the opening of a new art gallery in the building that previously operated as an artistic club.
Ioannis Hasapis presented actions related to local primary-sector projects, including the promotion of vanilla honey and Moschofilero wine, as well as the programme for recycling used cooking oil from restaurants. Kleio Koroni-Papantoniou referred to initiatives enhancing inclusive access to learning and community services.
The visit formed part of the Erasmus Days programme in Tripoli.
